The original goal or purpose of this newsletter was to share with you, the readers, useful news items related to Da'wah (the propagation of Islam) which I have collected over the years and which I continue to collect whenever I find the time to read the news. I also encourage you to do the same, if you are not already doing so, and to send them in to share with myself and others through this forum.

However, as the idea of the newsletter developed, I realized that it needed to serve a more comprehensive purpose, that of Da'wah itself. Hence, it is now my desire that this newsletter become, if Allah wills, a focal point for those active in Da'wah around the world to communicate issues and discuss problems affecting the effort internationally. That is, it is my sincere hope that the Dawah Times becomes an "open forum" for the du'aat (Muslim Missionaries) internationally. A noble future goal, but for now I decided to share other more classical Da'wah related materials in the newsletter.

Therefore, I decided to add to the mix important books on Da'wah which I have come across. Some may be reviewed and others serialized. Along with them, I thought to include relevant Qur'aanic verses and prophetic hadeeths, along with their commentaries, where available, in order to stimulate thought and action regarding this important obligation.

In the end, I hope that this effort bear useful fruit and that it serve the intended goals.
