Al-Hijrah School is a full-time independent day school for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 18. The school was founded in 1988 by the Present Headteacher, Mr. Mohammed A. K. Saqib, who was convinced that this was the only way to overcome the difficulties arising from secular state education which lacks the basic requirements of Islamic values.

Al-Hijrah aims to provide children with an environment in which they can develop their Islamic principles alongside their academic performance and to acquire such characteristics as god-consciousness, a sense of responsibility, perseverance, commitment, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, honesty, integrity and the capacity to understand and work with others, so that they may achieve success in this life and the Hereafter.

There are two branches for the schools: one is at Muharraq; the other is at East Riffa. The two branches consist of two schools for boys, two schools for girls and two sections for kindergarten.
